Who designed the MacBook?

Apple's industrial design for the last several years has been performed entirely in-house by Apple's Industrial Design Group, led by Jonathan Ive.

If you are interested in industrial design, you might like to purchase the long ago out of print AppleDesign: The Work of the Apple Industrial Design Group. This book has hundreds of full color photographs of vintage prototype Apple products that were never released and is an interesting look into the evolution of Apple's style.

Where can I buy a MacBook?

There are any number of places to purchase a used Mac. Site sponsor PowerMax offers a large selection of refurbished and used systems, including used white and black MacBook models free of sales tax.

What are the default configurations?

For the default configurations of each model, please refer to the specs page for the model of interest.

Yes. Starting with the "Early 2008 Penryn" series, you also could decide whether or not to add an Apple Remote for US$19 (previously included).
