The XLR8 MACh Velocity G4 MPe 500 is an "upgradable upgrade" card, which can be described as a ZIF-based adapter that can accomodate dual ZIF-based processors of the same speed or of different speeds. Essentially, the card plugs into the computer's ZIF socket and one or two ZIF-based processors plug into the card. The XLR8 MACh Velocity G4 500 ships with a pre-installed 500 MHz PowerPC 7400 (G4) ZIF module, and supports an additional ZIF module as well. |
