21 December 2014

This update of EveryMac.com features a complete overhaul of the "Actual Maximum Mac RAM" section of the site and a Popular Q&As page that reveals some of the most frequently read Q&As of the year. EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup has been updated, too.

EveryMac.com's Actual Maximum Mac RAM section has been both divided by system category to streamline ease-of-use and expanded with more information about the RAM for each Mac on these pages themselves for easier evaluation, comparison, and purchase.

EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup has been updated with many more identifiers for recent Macs and devices from hands-on inspection and submissions by helpful readers. Thank you very much to those who contributed info from recent purchases. It is appreciated always.

This Year's Popular Q&As

Five of the most popular Q&As in 2014 include:

  • What are all the differences between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and the earlier iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5s? Which is the best for me?
  • How do you upgrade or replace the storage in the 15-Inch Retina Display MacBook Pro models? Is it even possible?
  • What are the main differences between the iPad Air/iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini/iPad mini 2/iPad mini 3 models? Which is the best choice?
  • How do you upgrade the RAM in the "Mid-2009" through "Mid-2012" MacBook Pro models? What type of RAM do they use? How much RAM does each model actually support?
  • What are the major differences between the 13-Inch Retina Display MacBook Pro, the "regular" 13-Inch MacBook Pro, and the 13-Inch MacBook Air? Which is right for me?

For 20 additional popular Q&As of the year, refer to EveryMac.com's Popular Q&As listing.
