12 June 2015

This update of EveryMac.com features preliminary hardware compatibility details for the just announced OS X El Capitan (10.11) and iOS 9 operating systems, complete identifiers and benchmarks for the shipping 15" Retina MacBook Pro and 27" Retina iMac, and a handful of new and updated Q&As. EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup has been updated, too.

Remember that EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Comparison makes it easy to perform side-by-side comparisons of Mac and device specs, benchmarks, operating system support, and more.

Finally, EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup has been updated with more identifiers for the new MacBook Pro and iMac -- as well as other recent Macs and devices -- from hands-on inspection and submissions by helpful readers. Thank you very much to those who contributed info from recent purchases. It's appreciated always.

New Q&As

A selection of Q&As since the last major site update include:

  • Which Macs are compatible with OS X El Capitan (10.11)? Which Macs are likely to support Metal?
  • Which iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models fully support iOS 9? For models that "partially" support iOS 9, which features are and are not supported?
  • How do I replace the battery in the iPhone 5?
  • What is USB-C? What adapters are available for the Retina Display MacBook USB-C port?

For all new Q&As, please refer to EveryMac.com's Recently Added Q&As listing.
