The Daystar/XLR8 MACh Speed G4 ZIF 500/600 features a 600 MHz PowerPC 7410 (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and 1 MB of backside cache. The card plugs into the ZIF socket provided by the Power Macintosh G3 series, replacing the original processor card. Like the MACh Speed G3 ZIF, all upgrade cards in the MACh Speed G4 ZIF series have switches that can be used to adjust both the backside bus speed and ratio.
