10 June 2014

This month, EveryMac.com features preliminary details about hardware compatibility for the forthcoming OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 operating systems, updates to the Ultimate Mac Lookup and Ultimate Mac Comparison features, and a sitewide update of Estimated Current Retail prices. The EveryMac app [subsequently discontinued] has been updated, too.

One new feature Apple has added in OS X Yosemite is built-in support within Safari for the privacy-friendly DuckDuckGo search engine. DuckDuckGo already can be set to the default search engine within the Chrome and Firefox browsers on any version of OS X, as well.

Did you know that you can search EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup directly from DuckDuckGo with the "!everymac" command? For example, type !everymac iMac14,2 or !everymac A1278 to retrieve Macs that match these identifiers or any others. Give it a try.

EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Comparison has been updated with the latest details and makes it easy to perform side-by-side comparisons of Mac and device specs, benchmarks, operating system support, pricing info, and more.

Finally, EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup has been updated with many more identifiers for recent Macs and devices from hands-on inspection and submissions by helpful readers. Thank you very much to those who contributed info from recent purchases. It's always appreciated.
