The Apple Macintosh IIfx features a 40 MHz 68030 processor, 4 MB of RAM, a 40 MB, 80 MB, or 160 MB hard drive, and the option of an Apple Macintosh II video card in a relatively easy-to-expand desktop case. The Macintosh IIfx is the fastest of the Macintosh II series partly due to then-superfast RAM that was unique to the IIfx, a level 2 cache, and advanced hardware that allowed some applications to be optimized explicitly for speed.
