Apple Macintosh LC (Original) Specs

All Macintosh LC Models | All 1990 Models | Dynamically Compare This Mac to Others

Apple Macintosh LCThe Apple Macintosh LC -- so named for its "Low Cost" compared to earlier color capable Macs -- features a 16 MHz 68020 processor, 2 MB or 4 MB of RAM, and either dual 1.44 MB disk drives or a single 1.44 MB disk drive and a 40 MB or an 80 MB hard drive in a compact, simple-to-upgrade "pizza box" case.

The Macintosh LC is a distant cousin of the Macintosh II in a much smaller case, and thus, lacks NuBus expansion slots. However, the LC does have a single LC PDS (Processor Direct Slot), which could be equipped with an Apple IIe emulation card as well as other options.

Please note that the picture is an LC 475 and the original LC design is similar, but has a "flatter" front with a groove and a "cut out" option for a second disk drive. EveryMac.com eventually will swap out this photo with a more precise one.
