Who designed the Intel Mac mini?

Apple's industrial design for the last several years has been performed entirely in-house by Apple's Industrial Design Group, led by Jonathan Ive.

If you are interested in industrial design, you might like to purchase the long ago out of print AppleDesign: The Work of the Apple Industrial Design Group. This book has hundreds of full color photographs of vintage prototype Apple products that were never released and is an interesting look into the evolution of Apple's style.

Where can I buy an Intel Mac mini?

In the US, someone always can buy a current Mac mini directly from Apple, but you often can get a better deal by buying your new Mac mini from an Apple Authorized Reseller like site sponsor Adorama. Adorama commonly has deep discounts on recently discontinued models, too. Other World Computing and JemJem sell used and refurb Mac mini models at bargain prices with free shipping, as well.

In the UK, site sponsor Hoxton Macs sells used Mac mini models with a one-year warranty and free next day delivery throughout the UK. Delivery across Europe also is available starting at just £9.99 for two-day delivery to France and Germany.

In Australia, site sponsor Mac City likewise may have used Mac mini models available at low prices and with a free warranty and fast shipping across Australia.

What are the default configurations?

For the default configurations, please refer to the specs page for the model of interest and the "Comparison Q&As".

Are custom configurations available?

Yes. You can choose to customize the amount of RAM, hard drive size, keyboard type, and related accessories.
