Mac Server G4 Main | Ports | Support Links | Q&A | Forums
The Apple Mac Server G4/933 (Quicksilver 2002) features an 933 MHz PowerPC 7450 or PowerPC 7455 (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit, 256k "on chip" level 2 cache, and 2 MB of DDR SDRAM level 3 backside cache. It shipped configured with 256 MB of RAM, an 80 GB Ultra ATA/66 hard drive, a 24X CD-RW drive, and a 4X AGP ATI Radeon 7500 graphics card with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM in a "silver" enclosure with a "fold down door" on the side that makes the system extremely easy to upgrade.
For all practical purposes, all models in the Mac Server G4 series are identical to another model in the Power Macintosh G4 series, but the server models often shipped with larger or faster hard drives and more RAM, and always with pre-installed server software. The Mac Server G4/933 (Quicksilver 2002), in particular, is based on the Power Macintosh G4/933 (Quicksilver 2002), but originally shipped with an unlimited user edition of MacOS X Server 10.1.
