Apple iMac G3 Graphite Snow Summer 2001The Apple iMac G3/700 Special Edition (Summer 2001) features a 700 MHz PowerPC 750cx (G3) processor with a 256k on-chip level 2 cache, 256 MB of RAM, a 60.0 GB Ultra ATA hard drive, a slot loading 8X/4X/24X CD-RW drive, ATI Rage 128 Ultra (AGP 2X) graphics with 16 MB of VRAM, a Harmon-Kardon designed sound system, and Firewire "400" ports packed into a translucent "graphite" or "snow" all-in-one case design with a 15-inch CRT display.

The iMac G3/700 Special Edition (Summer 2001) is similar to the iMac G3/600 (Summer 2001) -- both were offered in graphite and snow cases -- but the Special Edition model shipped with a faster processor -- the fastest in a CRT-based iMac -- and a larger hard drive (60 GB instead of 40 GB).

Please note that Apple decided to refer to this line as the "Summer 2001" series, which refers to Summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
