Apple PowerBook G4The PowerBook G4/1.0 features a 1.0 GHz PowerPC 7455 (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit, 256k on chip level 2 cache, and 1.0 MB level 3 cache, 512 MB of PC133 SDRAM, a 60 GB Ultra ATA/66 hard drive (4200 RPM), a slot-loading 1X DVD-R/CD-RW "SuperDrive", pre-installed AirPort (802.11b), and ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 (4X AGP) graphics with 64 MB of DDR SDRAM in a 1-inch thick Titanium case with a 15.2" TFT display (1280x854 native resolution). Custom configurations also were available.

Compared to the PowerBook G4/800 (DVI) that it replaced, the PowerBook G4/1.0 is quite similar, but has a faster processor, improved graphics, and a built-in "SuperDrive". The SuperDrive addition is particularly notable as this was the first notebook to ship standard with a drive capable of writing DVD media.
