Apple Power Macintosh 9600/300The Apple Power Macintosh 9600/300, based on the Kansas architecture, features a 300 MHz PowerPC 604e "Mach 5" processor, 64 MB of RAM, a 4.0 GB hard drive, a 24X CD-ROM drive, an internal Zip drive, and an 8 MB IX-Micro Twin Turbo 128 video card in a well-designed, "flip open" tower case design that is significantly easier to upgrade than earlier Power Mac tower cases.

In addition to the easy-to-upgrade case, the Power Macintosh 9600 series is notable for having twelve RAM slots and six PCI slots for expansion options unmatched by subsequently released Power Mac models.
