The Apple Xserve G4/1.33 (Slot Load) features a 1.33 GHz PowerPC 7455 (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit, 256k "on chip" level 2 cache and 2 MB "backside" level 3 cache, 256 MB of PC2700 DDR SDRAM, a 60 GB (7200 RPM) Ultra ATA/133 hard drive, a slot-loading 24X CD-ROM drive (or optional DVD/CD-RW "Combo" drive), an ATI PCI graphics card with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM (an unspecified AGP 4X graphics card with 64 MB of DDR SDRAM was available as an optional configuration), and dual 10/100/1000Base-T (Gigabit) Ethernet all in a 1U case that fits in an industry-standard 19" rack.
The Xserve G4/1.33 is architecturally similar to the earlier Xserve G4/1.0, but in addition to having a faster processor, it has a faster system bus, faster RAM, faster drive buses (four hot swappable "Apple Drive Modules" -- each running on its own Ultra ATA/133 bus), and Firewire "800" support.
Like the original Xserve, this model has two full length 66 MHz, 64-bit PCI slots and one half-length 66 MHz, 32-bit combination PCI/4X AGP slot. In the default configuration, the lower 64-bit PCI slot is occupied by the video card and the 32-bit combination PCI/AGP slot is occupied by a Gigabit Ethernet card.
The Xserve G4/1.33 shipped with an unlimited user version of MacOS X Server 10.2.4 and custom server monitoring software pre-installed. Custom configurations also were available.
