Apple eMacThe Apple eMac G4/1.0 (ATI Graphics) features a 1.0 GHz PowerPC 7445 (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and a 256k on chip level 2 cache, 128 MB or 256 MB of PC133 SDRAM, a 60 GB or 80 GB Ultra ATA/66 hard drive (the low-end M9252LL/A revision introduced October 22, 2003 has a 40 GB drive), a tray-loading "Combo" or "SuperDrive" drive, ATI Radeon 7500 graphics with AGP 4X support and 32 MB of DDR SDRAM, as well as support for AirPort Extreme (not pre-installed) in an all-in-one case with a 17.0" (16.0" viewable area) CRT display (resolution support up to 1280x960 in 24-bit color).

The eMac G4/1.0 (ATI Graphics) shipped with an ice white Apple "Pro" keyboard and mouse, and could be configured with either MacOS 9.2 or MacOS X 10.2* as the default operating system. Custom configurations also were available.

Please note that the "Combo" drive configuration (M8950LL/A) is capable of booting in both MacOS 9 and MacOS X. The second "Combo" configuration (M9252LL/A) and "SuperDrive" configurations (M8951LL/A and M8951LL/A), however, *cannot* boot in MacOS 9. These are capable of running MacOS 9 applications within the MacOS X "Classic" environment provided by MacOS X 10.4.11 and earlier.

*On October 22, 2003, this model was modestly reconfigured -- the original "Combo" drive configuration (M8950LL/A) was replaced by a model with a smaller hard drive, no support for booting in MacOS 9, and a lower price (M9252LL/A).
